The Diamond’s Motivation:Thembisa S. Mshaka

I had the pleasure of meeting Thembsia S. Mshaka last week at a music panel held at the Apollo. She was the moderator and during the  of the discussion she was signing copies of her book  Put Your Dreams First:Handle Your Entertainment Business. She was very pleasant and down to earth. Make sure you buy a copy!

The Inches We Need Are Everywhere Around Us

“you know when you get old in life things get taken from you that’s apart of life, but you only learn that when you start losing stuff”

I stumbled across this great speech by Al Pacino in the movie “Any Given Sunday”. The line that sticks out the most for me is when he says “the margin for error is very thin”. I was talking about this with friends of mine last week. I started thinking about choices and how in reality the smallest choice can cause such a big impact in one’s life. Its like you can be very cautious, but sometimes the margin is so thin that it  does not make a difference. Well check out this video and let me know what you think. I found the speech very cool and inspiring.

I Still Can’t Believe She’s Mine!

I love Michelle Obama I don’t care what the naysayers have to say about her. I believe she’s a wonderful role model and is learning how to adapt.

Just In Case You Need To Smile…

I’m corny, mushy things make me smile and although this video is quite old it still brings a smile to my face. But if you want to talk politics I believe the part two of this video was sponsored by Dentyne if I’m not mistaken. I think that’s pretty cool and it should remind everyone to pitch their ideas no matter how crazy they sound. There is someone with money out there willing to invest.

Rest In Peace Stack Bundles!

I know I am late, but I didn’t want to do it when everyone else did. I never really understood why Stack Bundles wore fur coats in the hood or drove his fancy cars around the hood. I guess that will always be something I never understood. Stack Bundles bounced around from situation to situation in hopes to finally land a profitable deal. He even managed to land in Chicago and link up with Lupe Fiasco. That situation didn’t work and he ended up moving back to NY and eventually ending up with Jim Jones. His life was tragically cut short on June 11, 2007. I think his life was not in vain. I think Stack is proof that everything is not for everybody. He had bars for days, but that still wasn’t enough to prolong his rap career. I tend to wonder if he would have stuck around with Lupe would he have made it? Again,I guess its one of those things that I would have to wonder. Rest In Peace Stack Bundles a great rapper with,so much talent.

Keep Music Close To You

During my last year of college my life was in shambles. I was taking an overload of classes, interning at a record label and a Resident Assistant in my dorm. I had way too much going on and my mind was unable to focus enough to put my energy towards my priority. Well during that same time Jim Jones’ P.O.M.E came out. This album holds a very dear place in my heart. Oddly enough Jim Jones was the only artist that was able to relax my mind. Stack Bundles was another artist that allowed me to just escape from all the craziness that surronded me. I say that to say this never stir away from the music. Music has the ability to take you to another world. It’s an audio book way before the audio books were available online. Also, never limit yourself to a certain Genre or artist. I was very surprised that Jim Jones would be the artist to help me out. I’ve considered myself more of a Killa fan,but Jim Jones got the job done well. Keep Music Close!
